Brief biography
Evgeny A. Usynin was born in 1970. He graduated from Siberian State Medical University (Tomsk) in 1993. From 1993 to 1995, he worked at the General Oncology Department of Cancer Research Institute of Tomsk Scientific Center of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences as a junior researcher. Since 1995, E.A. Usynin has been a urologic oncologist. In 2000, he defended his Ph.D. thesis titled "Criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and prognosis of superficial bladder tumors". In 2002, E.A. Usynin was appointed Senior Researcher of the Department of Urologic Oncology. In 2017, he defended his D.Sc. thesis titled «Optimization of treatment strategy for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer». Since May 2019, E.A. Usynin has been a Head of General Oncology Department.
Research interests
The main research interest is the development and improvement of new methodological approaches to the personalized combined modality treatment in patients with kidney and bladder cancer. With his direct participation, reconstructive plastic surgery was introduced into practice to create urinary reservoirs from various parts of the gastrointestinal tract. Endoscopic surgeries (transurethral resection of the bladder and prostate), laparoscopic surgeries for kidney and prostate cancers are performed.
He actively presents his research papers at Russian conferences. He is actively engaged in educational activities. He is an author of more than 100 publications and 8 invention patents.
