Brief biography

Lydia Ivanovna is a cardiologist of the highest category, graduated from the General Medicine Faculty of the Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute in 1974. In the first years after graduation, she worked as a therapist at the Tyumen City General Hospital #2 ; after graduating clinical residency at the Tyumen State Medical Institute in 1983 she worked as a cardiologist at Tyumen City General Hospital # 1. Since 1984, she was working at Tyumen Cardiology Research Center as a Junior Scientific Researcher (1984-1987), cardiologist of Department of Urgent Cardiology (1987-1989), Head of the Scientific Consultative Department (Outpatient Department) (1989-2012). In 1997, she took up the position of Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Clinical and Expert Work; in 2012, she was transferred to the position of Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Examination of Temporary Disability in Tyumen Cardiology Research Center - Branch of Tomsk National Research Medical Center. In 2008, Lydia Ivanovna was awarded with the honorary title "Honoured Physician of the Russian Federation".

Achievements, awards, and grants

Makarenko Lydia Ivanovna - Honored Physician of the Russian Federation (2008), cardiologist of the highest qualification category (1994). She has Healthcare Excellence award from the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation. Lydia Ivanovna took personal part in establishing, equipping and organizing of day-to-day activities of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center. She carried out medical examinations of residents of Tyumen and the Tyumen Region, including the Far North regions together with mobile medical team. Up-to-date methods of diagnostics and treatment of cardiac patients have introduced into practice by Dr. Makarenko; she provides consultations to physicians, organizes case management team, and improves cardiac care in Practical Healthcare service.
