Marusin Andrey Viktorovich

PhD, Researcher in the laboratory of evolutionary genetics of Research Institute of Medical Genetics, Tomsk National Research Medical Center.

Brief biography

Marusin Andrey Viktorovich, born in 1971, Russian, higher education: in 1994 he graduated with honors from Tomsk State University with a degree in biology. He has been working in the team of the Research Institute of Medical Genetics since 1992, first as a laboratory assistant, and since October 2000, he was a junior researcher in the laboratory of evolutionary genetics. He graduated from full-time postgraduate study at the Research Institute of MG (1997 - 2000). In 2001 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of biological sciences on the topic: "Variability and heritability of antioxidant activity of blood plasma in Siberian populations." From 2002 to the present, he has been working as a researcher in the laboratory of evolutionary genetics.

Research Interests

The main works of Marusin A.V. lie in the study of the genetics of quantitative traits and the medical genetics of multifactorial diseases. In the field of scientific interests are studies of genetic, adaptive and evolutionary processes in human populations. Interdisciplinary research in biological, social anthropology and ethnology, the study of ancient DNA, transcultural addictology, genetics of behavior, genetics of neuropsychiatric and neuropsychiatric diseases. Recently, the bioinformation analysis of the results of full-exomic sequencing using new generation methods (NGS) has been of greatest interest.
