Brief Biography
Koroleva Iuliia (born 26.12.1989) graduated from the Medical Biology Faculty of the Siberian State Medical University in 2013. In 2015 she graduated from the residency of the Institute of Medical Genetics, specializing in laboratory genetics, in 2016 she specialized in clinical laboratory diagnostics. Since November 2013 she is working in the Laboratory of Population Genetics, including work as a junior researcher since September 2016.
Research Interests
Research interests include epigenetic regulation of genes in cardiovascular and mitochondrial diseases. The main scientific topic at present is the study of the contribution of epigenetic factors (the level of DNA methylation and non-coding RNA, especially microRNA) in the development of atherosclerotic lesions of human arteries and its consequences.
As of May 2020 Iuliia Koroleva is the author and co-author of 42 publications in Russian and foreign press. Of these, 16 publications are indexed in Web of Science and 9 publications are indexed in Scopus. Iuliia's Hirsch Index in Web of Science and Scopus databases is 4.
Achievements, awards, and grants
At present, Iuliia Koroleva participates in the grant project of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) No 19-04-01322 "Assessment of adaptability of population polymorphism of human mitochondrial DNA" (2019-2021). From 2012 to 2018 she took part in grant projects of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Russian Science Foundation, Federal Target Program "Scientific and Scientific Pedagogical Staff of Innovative Russia ", as well as the Grant of the President of the Russian Federation.
In May 11-15 2014 Iuliia was awarded the Scholarship of the European Society of Human Genetics for participation in the 27th course in Medical Genetics (Italy) and received a certificate of participation.
Iuliia is a laureate of the competitions of young scientists held in the framework of scientific conferences: 1st place in the poster competition at the 11th conference "Human Genetics and Pathology" dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Research Institute of Medical Genetics (November 2017); Diploma of III degree at the First Russian Congress with international participation "Cardiology of the XXI Century: Alliances and Potential" (April 2018).
