Brief Biography

Irina Goncharova graduated from Tomsk State University in 1990. After graduation, she worked at the Laboratory of Cytogenetics of the Research Institute of Medical Genetics, and since 1996 to the present – at the Laboratory of Population Genetics. In 2002 she defended her thesis: “Variability of human genome regions under the influence of chronic gamma irradiation and individual radiosensitivity”.

Research Interests

Irina Goncharova is the author of more than 60 published papers, about 30 of her articles have been published in leading Russian and foreign journals such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Medical Genetics, Molecular Medicine, International Journal of Low Radiation, and Meta Gene. Besides, she is the author of the monograph “The Role of Immunogenetics and Proteolysis in the Progression of Virus and Alcoholic Origin Liver Diseases”, patent for the invention No. 2376372 “Method of Genetic Diagnosis of Susceptibility to Cardiovascular Disease” and software No. 2014611785 “Calculation of the Therapeutic Dose of Warfarin (WarfarinSib) and medical technology Multiplex Genotyping of SNP-Markers of Hereditary Thrombophilia Using SNaPshot Method”. Her research interests include human susceptibility to common diseases, characteristics of the genome regulation depending on the presence of structural polymorphism under the influence of various pathological factors, pharmacogenetics, and network medicine.
