Brief Biography

Semke Arkady V. after the graduation in 1982 with honors of Medical Faculty of the Altai State Medical Institute worked at the Mental Health Research Institute as a psychiatrist, junior researcher, senior research associate, leading researcher, Head of the Endogenous Disorders Department. According to results of scientific studies Arkady V. Semke defended the master's thesis in 1988, the doctoral dissertation in 1995; in 2002 the solution of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation gave him the academic status of Professor in “Psychiatry”. In December, 2013 he was elected the Deputy Director for Scientific and Medical Work of the Mental Health Research Institute. On a voluntary basis he performs management of the Endogenous Disorders Department.

Research Interests

Schizophrenia, psychopharmacotherapy, biopsychosocial rehabilitation, adaptatiogenesis, social adaptive behavior.

Achievements, awards, and grants

Vice-chairman of the Academic Council of the Mental Health Research Institute of Tomsk NRMC and member of the Integrated Academic Council of Tomsk NRMC, member of the Approbation and vice-chairman of the Dissertation (002.079.05) Councils on the base of Tomsk NRMC. Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Siberian Herald of Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry”, member of the Editorial Board of the journals “Psychiatry, Psychotherapy Zhane Narcology” (Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan) and “Problems of Narcology of Kazakhstan”, member of the International Association of Ethnopsychologists and Ethnopsychotherapists, member of the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry.

Gratitude of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2001), Diploma of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2004), Grant of the Fond of assistance of development of domestic medicine and the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (2004), the winner of the award of the Tomsk Region in education, science, healthcare and culture in the nomination “Awards to the Scientific and Scientific-Pedagogical Workers Who Made the Significant Personal Contribution to Development of Science and Education” (2009), the Certificate of honor of Administration of Tomsk (2014), the Medal “70 years of the Tomsk Region” (2014), the Distinction “For merits in education” (2016).

He is the executive of the complex theme together with University of Groningen (Holland); the collaborator in the joint project with Institute of physiology of Tubingen University (Germany) and the international projects on psychopharmacology of antipsychotic preparations and introduction of modern medicines in clinical practice.

Total number of publications 379, including 248 scientific articles and theses, 6 monographs, 7 patents, 4 methodical recommendations and guides for doctors, 5 educational-methodical manuals, 3 patents for inventions, Web of Science h-index - 6, Scopus h-index - 6, RSCI h-index -15.
