Brief Biography

Anastasiia S. Boiko, born in 1989, graduated with honors from the Medical-Biological Faculty of the Siberian State Medical University in 2013 with a degree of MD in specialization “Medical biochemistry”. In 2014, she completed her internship and received a diploma in postgraduate professional education and a certificate of a specialist in the specialty 'Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics'. She has a certificate of advanced training in the program “Fundamentals of statistical data processing in scientific research” (Siberian State Medical University; 2016) and a certificate of the training course “R programming, statistics and data analysis” (CEO Blastim, Moscow; 2019). In 2016, she completed training at the European office of Luminex Corporation (‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands) and became a certified specialist in xMAP Technology in the areas of “Fundamentals of Antigen Coupling” and “Indirect Immunoassay Development”. In the same year, a candidate's thesis was successfully defended on the topic "Clinical and biological characteristics of tardive dyskinesia in schizophrenic patients with long-term antipsychotic therapy" in the specialties “Psychiatry” and “Pathological Physiology”. In December 2023, Anastasia received the academic degree “Doctor of Medical Sciences”, having defended her dissertation on the topic “Clinical and pathobiological patterns of the formation of metabolic syndrome in patients with schizophrenia” (specialty “Psychiatry and Narcology” (medical sciences).

Since 2017, she has been the Chair of the Tomsk Regional Branch of the Early Career Psychiatrists Council of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists (ECP Council of the RSP). She was a member of the Executive Committee of the ECP Council of the RSP as the head of the Research Projects Section from 2017 to 2023. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Council of Young Scientists of the Tomsk Region (https://depvpo.tomsk.gov.ru/people/front/view/id/1503).

Research interests

Scientific interests cover various areas of biological psychiatry and neurology: antipsychotic-induced movement disorders (tardive dyskinesia) in patients with schizophrenia; drug-induced neuroendocrine and metabolic side effects of antipsychotic therapy in patients with mental disorders; study of oxidative stress, immunoinflammation and antioxidant protection, neurotransmitter and neuroprotective systems in patients with schizophrenia and depressive disorders; search for genetic and molecular biological markers of mental and neurodegenerative diseases.

Repeatedly Boiko A.S. became the winner of competitions for young scientists and was awarded diplomas of various degrees for the best oral and poster presentations (Workshop for Junior Scientists in Europe 2015, competitions for young scientists held within the framework of the All-Russian Schools of Early Career Psychiatrists, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, etc.).

Publication activity

Boiko A.S. is the author of more than 200 publications (Hirsch index in the RSCI - 17, Web of Science and Scopus - 13). 196 publications are registered in the RSCI, 65 of them are published in journals from the Higher Attestation Commission list, 85 in Web of Science, and 36 in Scopus. Anastasiia has 11 RIAs (3 patents for inventions and 8 database registration certificates).
