Brief Biography

In 1986 Marina Danilets graduated from the faculty of Biology and Soil of the Tomsk State University. Since 1987 she has been working in organizations of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Medical Sciences. First she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Medical Genetics, then in 1990, she started working as a junior researcher at the Research Laboratory of Experimental Biological Models of the Scientific Research Institute of Oncology, which, as a result of the restructuring of the RAMS in 1999, was merged with the Research Institute of Pharmacology of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2000 Marina Danilets defended master's thesis in the specialty “Pathological physiology”. After defending in 2011 her doctoral dissertation in the specialty “Pharmacology”, she became the Head of the Department of Experimental Biological Models.

Research Interests

Area of scientific interests of Marina Danilets is quite wide and includes issues of regulation of immune inflammation, the mechanisms of interaction of immune and hematopoietic systems. The main area of activity is to study the mechanisms of pharmacological correction of pathological states of the immune system by substances of plant and synthetic origin and the development on their basis of drugs for treatment of chronic, low-intensity infectious diseases, as well as for immunotherapy of oncological diseases. Marina Danilets is a co-author of more than 120 publications, 2 monographs, 14 patents for invention. Marina Danilets is a highly qualified specialist in the field of laboratory stockbreeding. In her position as head of the Department of Experimental Biological Models, for the organization of work of the Research Institute of Pharmacology according to the standards of "Good laboratory practice", she formed a package of documents regulating the work of the Department according to the GLP system, and changed the technological process of breeding and keeping animals of conventional status. Marina Danilets is preparing the Department for an audit by the state system of standardization and quality certification of laboratory animals and the conditions of their keeping in accordance with the requirements of good laboratory practice.

Achievements, awards, and grants

For many years of diligent work, Marina Danilets was rewarded in 2009 with the Honorary diploma of the mayor of Tomsk, in 2012 with the Honorary diploma of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Resolution of the Presidium number 89 dated December 05, 2012) and in 2012 for the major contribution to the development of Kirovskiy District of Tomsk was entered to the “District Board of Honor” (certificate number 113, order number 361 dated October 24, 2012).
