Brief Biography
Elena Petrovna in 1980 year graduated with honours from the Faculty of biology and soil of the V.V. Kuibyshev Tomsk State University, qualification «Biologist, teacher of biology and chemistry», and was adopted in Siberian branch of All-Union oncological scientific center of Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. In 1985 as part of the laboratory she moved to the Institute of Pharmacology of Tomsk Research Center. In 1987 year supported her thesis on «Regulation of the metastatic process of tumors in experiment using surgical and chemotherapy methods» and got the degree of candidate of biological sciences. Her doctoral dissertation «Drugs from plants of Siberia and the Far East in the complex therapy of malignant neoplasms (experimental study)» was defended in 1999 year. From 2001 year she was a head of the laboratory of onkopharmacology Goldberg Research Institute of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine. Got professors title in «Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology» from 2002 year.
Research Interests
E.P. Zueva is the author of more then 300 publications, including 4 monographs, Guidance on pre-clinical study means possessing the ability to inhibit the process of metastasis, and increase the effectiveness of cytostatic therapy of malignant tumors, included in Guidance for experimental (pre-clinical) study of new pharmacological substances (Moscow, 2005). Has 23 Russian Federation patent on invention. Was a consultant and the head of 4 doctoral and 8 candidate theses. In the area of scientific interests E.P. is the possibility of using drugs of natural origin and extracted from them, biologically active substances in complex therapy of tumors, defining their role in the mechanisms of correction antitumoral and toxic effects of drugs and in enhancing the antitumor organism resistance.
Achievements, awards, and grants
For the great contribution into the development of research, training of highly qualified specialists E.P. Zueva was awarded the Honorary Diploma of Tomsk region administration (2007), is the winner of the prize of the Tomsk oblast education, science, health and culture (2012), received the title of honored veteran of Siberian Branch of the RAS (2018).
Elena Petrovna is the head scientific direction on development of drugs of natural origin for use in complementary therapy of malignant neoplasms and means for gastroenterological practice. As the Coordinator she participated in implementation of joint authorship rights grants in federal target program «Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry of the Russian Federation for the period until the year 2020 and beyond» and the State contract with the Federal Agency for science and innovations (2009, 2012). She is currently the head of research and development work on the thematic map 054 «Development of pharmaceuticals based on natural resources of Siberia and the Far East and the study of mechanisms of their action».
Zueva E.P. – the member of the Scientific Council of the Goldberg Research Institute of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine and Tomsk National Research Medical Center. She is an expert of applications for the formation and funding of works within the framework of the Federal Target Program «Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry of the Russian Federation for the period until the year 2020 and beyond».
