Brief Biography

Alexey A. Churin graduated from the medical and biological faculty of the Siberian State Medical University in 1995. In the same year he entered the postgraduate Research institute of Pharmacology (Tomsk). From 1998 to 2007 years Churin held positions: junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher, leading scientific researcher of Drug Toxicology   Laboratory at the Research institute of Pharmacology (Tomsk). PhD (1998), doctor of medical sciences (2005). Currently he is the head of the Drug Toxicology   department of the Scientific Research Institute of Physical and Restorative Medicine of them. E.D. Goldberg of Tomsk NIMC.

Research Interests

Churin A. is the author and co-author of more than 150 publications, including one “Pharmaceutical marketing” textbook, a monograph “Xenon in medicine”, a chapter in the “Guidelines for conducting preclinical studies of drugs”. He has 14 Russian patents for inventions. Under his leadership, defended three master's theses. Main scientific research of Churin A.A. associated with research in the field of experimental pharmacology, toxicology, pathophysiology and related fields in order to create new drugs and develop new experimental models of pathological conditions.

Achievements, awards, and grants

In the volume of the requirements of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the position of head of the department, Churin A. supervised the conduct of preclinical safety studies (general toxic and mutagenic properties) of more than 20 new drugs developed at the institute. He took part in research on grants of the Federal Target Program “Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2020 and beyond”, which are conducted on the basis of the institute.
The studies conducted by A. Churin received support from the Tomsk Oblast Administration (IV Regional Competition for Scientific Developments of Young Scientists from the Tomsk Oblast Administration, 2005), supported by the grant of President of the Russian Federation (project no. MK-1689.2004.7), a grant under the federal target of the program “Research and development in priority areas of development of the scientific and technological complex of Russia for 2007–2012” of the SC No. 02.512.11.2220 in cooperation with the NI TSU. He was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Tomsk Region Administration.
