For more than 20 years, Tomsk Cancer Research Institute has been participating in the state program for the provision of high-tech care in the oncology profile. Its list includes rare types of radiation therapy (neutron therapy, intraoperative electronic therapy, systemic radiotherapy with strontium) used in the treatment of radioresistant malignant neoplasms.

Development of new surgical techniques:

  • Reconstructive plastic surgery with the use of materials based on bioceramics and titanium nickelide
  • Organ-sparing, function-sparing surgery
  • Endoscopic surgery
  • Sentinel lymph node navigation surgery

In recent years, technologic advances in genomics have improved our understanding of tumor biology, which provides a foundation for novel therapeutic approaches. We offer personalized cancer treatment for our patients with the use of targeted cancer therapies. Our goal is to transform cancer therapy by using advanced technological tools to predict who will respond to a specific treatment, and to match each patient with the best drug for a particular tumor.

The Cancer Clinic is actively involved in scientific exchanges with Tomsk Universities. Jointly with the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, research is being carried out to develop innovative radiopharmaceuticals and original implants for reconstructive surgery. The modern methods of intraoperative electron beam and neutron therapy are being developed and improved.

In collaboration with the educational and scientific innovative complex of enterprises of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics, a complex of local hyperthermia "Phoenix-2" was developed and certified. The use of the complex allows the doctors not only to perform thermal ablation of tumors, but also to prevent tumor chemoresistance.

Supervising the work of oncological institutions in Siberia and the Russian Far East in organizational, methodological, advisory and scientific-training areas, the Research Cancer Institute actively uses the clinical base for conducting thematic conferences, training seminars and master classes with the invitation of leading Russian and foreign experts.
